Here is an article describing the importance of proper prepartion for a psychedelic experience. We cover the most important ( medical ) things in our "Treatment Instructions". From our perspective two things stand out. First - it is the trust in the team and the process. Thats is why an initial consultation is so crucial, not only it provides some basic information about the treamtetn but it also allows a therapeutic alliance to form around a mutual goal of patient's wellbeing. Second- being comfortable, which implies cozy and stress free enviroment, nice office space, not rushing to appointmet, putting phone on DND , soothing music etc. A good way of looking at ketamine treatment is to compare it to a very deep meditative state where distractions are minimized , comfort and safety are insured and there is support and guidance as needed.

After the treatment, it could be helfpul to journal ( similar to a dream journal ) some of the ideas , memories and emotional states that came up during the treatment. These experiences coudl be discused after the session or later in therapy. Treatments could be interesting or boring, both could be important.
